The Third Reich in 100 Objects
The Third Reich in 100 Objects written by Roger Moorhouse and published Pen and Sword Books Hardback – £25.00 – 253 Pages.
This book has been written by a leading historian of his subject, and this comes across in the book which is a fantastic read. I’ve read these types of books before such as 100 Objects from the First Blitz, and the Second World War etc. They are always good because they are written by people with authority of the time. What makes them so good is the thorough history and detail behind each object, and yet we know most of the objects but the background behind each one is so good. I mean we have every iconic item from the time from, tanks to planes, and uniforms to Nazi badges to gloves and ration cards. I would certainly recommend this to others especially if you were a student wanting to learn about Germany in WW2, as this book is so comprehensive.
The style of Moorhouse’s writing is very clear, informative and coherent, the pictures of each of the items are clear and classy there is no dull or grainy pictures of film etc, it’s just a very well published book. I could keep praising this book because it is so good, but I better stop. This gets a definite 5 star rating from this reviewer for sure.
